Updated: Mar 14

Just when you thought the Selkirk Vanguard pickleball paddles couldn't get any better, here come the new Vanguard 2.0's!

Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 Epic, Invikta and S2 paddles

Premium Selkirk Pickleball Paddles

Serious pickleball players know that Selkirk produces some of the highest quality paddles on the market. Selkirk first raised the bar in 2020 when they created their premium Vanguard line of paddles. Unlike other existing models, these revolutionary paddles featured two layers of carbon fiber on each side of the paddle face, instead of just one. Now Selkirk is taking paddle technology to new heights with their hot-off-the-presses Vanguard 2.0 lightweight paddles.

What's new in the Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 paddles?

As a premier retail partner, Game-Set-Match, Inc. is pleased to carry the three most popular Vanguard 2.0 paddles: the Epic, Invikta and S2 ($199 each). Before we get into the specifics of each model, let’s first visit what’s new with the Vanguard 2.0 line of paddles.

  • Pro-Spin Texture: All Vanguard 2.0 paddles feature an advanced Pro-Spin textured surface that creates even more spin than previous models.

  • Quantum-CarbonFiber Face: A proprietary two-directional, cross-weave carbon fiber paddle face material generates a bigger sweet spot, better consistency, and outstanding feel.

  • Gen2 Durable Surface: The new surface materials offers wear resistance that outperforms previous generations of already-durable Vanguard paddles.

Now that we’ve enticed you with all these impressive technology upgrades, let’s help you find the right model!

Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 Epic

The Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 Epic is a great all-around paddle for beginners to pros. It weighs 7.3-7.8 ounces, has a large surface area and a generous sweet spot. Its long 5.25” handle is perfect for two-handed backhands or players with larger hands. (Tennis players will especially appreciate this feature.) The Epic shaped paddles have long been reputed to improve your game, thanks in part to its wide 8” width.

This paddle is our top choice for all-around players. However, if you love the wide face but don’t need the extra handle length, you’ll want to consider the Vanguard 2.0 S2.

Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 S2

Suitable for players of all levels, the Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 is best known for having the largest sweet spot of any Selkirk paddle. As previously mentioned, it has a wide 8” face (like the Epic), but a shorter 4.5” handle. This allows for maximum paddle face surface area, which is what gives it the largest sweet spot of all. The shorter handle is perfect for players with small to medium hands, but players with larger hands might find it a bit too short.

The S2 is only very slightly heavier than the Epic, with a weight range of 7.4-7.9 ounces. This paddle is a great choice for players looking for a lightweight paddle with maximum sweet spot.

Selkirk Vanguard 2.0 Invikta

What sets the Vanguard 2.0 Invikta apart from the Epic and S2 models is its noticeably elongated shape. It has an ultra-long 16.5” height and narrower 7.375” width that’s perfect for players who want a little extra reach. This makes it a great choice for singles players needing full court coverage. The Invikta is also reputed to add power through its slightly heavier head and longer handle, which result in a larger swing arc and faster ball speeds.

Like the Epic, this lightweight paddle has a 7.3-7.8 ounce weight range and generous sweet spot. We recommend the Invikta for players of all levels seeking greater reach on the court.
