What is Padel?

Have you tried padel? It’s ALL the rage in Spain and Argentina, and it’s beginning to catch-on here in the U.S. as well. For those unfamiliar with padel, it’s a social, action-oriented sport that combines the very best of tennis and squash. The sport is typically played as doubles on an enclosed (walled) court that’s roughly 25% smaller than a tennis court. The scoring is the same as normal tennis, but it is played with a firm-faced racket with many holes (no strings) and slightly less pressurized balls. One of the most exciting aspects of padel is that you can play off the walls! This fun, fast-paced game is one of the fastest growing sports in Europe.

Babolat Padel Rackets

Game-Set-Match, Inc. is committed to continually expanding our racket selection, which is why we’ve recently added Babolat padel rackets to our stores. We now carry the Babolat Air Vertuo, Air Veron and Air Viper adult padel rackets as well as the Air Viper junior padel racket. To be clear, these are premium padel rackets made with all the latest technology and materials, for advancing padel players. Here’s a quick look at each one to help answer the question, Which Babolat padel racket is best for me?

Babolat Air Vertuo

The Babolat Air Vertuo padel racket is perfect for intermediate to advanced players. It features black EVA foam in the head to boost both power and comfort simultaneously. The racket’s VIBRASORB system reduces vibrations, offering comfort on every shot. This attractive blue and white padel racket is the least expensive of the Babolat padel racket models, coming in at just $165.

Babolat Air Veron

Next up is the Babolat Air Veron. This upgraded racket is ideal for competitive players seeking power and fast mobility. Like the Air Veruto, the Air Veron features EVA foam and VIBRASORB technologies for comfort and power. What sets this racket apart is Babolat’s special 3D spin+ treatment on the racket face plus Carbon Flex for the perfect balance of power and feel. Retail price is $230.

Babolat Air Viper

The Air Viper is Babolat’s top-of-the-line padel racket. It features all the technologies and materials featured in the Air Veron plus a premium three-layer construction. The outer EVA layers provide stiffness for more power, and the inner layer is comprised of softer materials for enhanced flex and feel on slower shots. The Air Viper is ideal for advanced level players and retails for $290.

Babolat Air Viper Junior

At just $65, the Babolat Air Viper Junior is one of the best padel rackets for junior players (in our humble opinion). It has a very low overall weight and is made with soft, flexible materials for a comfortable feel. Junior players will love the Air Viper Junior’s large, forgiving sweet spot that allows even off-center shots to hit their mark.
